Red all over! 1,474 hotspots in Thailand, over 2 times more dust than usual

the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA) revealed data from the Suomi NPP satellite, VIIRS system, and data from other satellites on 16 March, showing that Thailand has a total of 1,474 hotspots. Satellite data indicates that the country's hotspots occurred in 642 protected forest areas, 475 national reserved forest areas, 167 agricultural areas, 94 SorPorKor areas, 87 community and other areas, and 9 areas along highways. Meanwhile, the most hotspots in neighboring countries were found in Myanmar with 7,134, Laos with 1,047, Cambodia with 254, Vietnam with 220, and Malaysia with 6.
